Ada Kaczmarczyk (b. 1985 in Strzelce Opolskie, Poland)
Her works serve as a perfect endorsement of the girl power ideology as they coalesce youth, autonomy and assertiveness. Kaczmarczyk explores popular culture, video clips, music and cinema, defining identity in terms of gender, the self and the social.
Kaczmarczyk is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, a recipient of numerous awards, among others the Polish Television’s Creative Valley Prize (“Dolina Kreatywna TVP”), and a participant in domestic and international exhibitions, including “Samsung Art Master” at the Centre For Contemporary Art (CSW, Warsaw) and “Letni Nieletni” at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art (Warsaw). In 2010 she partook in an artistic residency in New York. She lives and works in Warsaw.
